Liverpool broke an incredible 90-year record when they beat Newcastle United on Wednesday.

The Reds secured their 20th league win of the season on Wednesday as they brushed Eddie Howe’s side to go 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

Goals from Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister secured the win, extending their unbeaten run in the league to 24 games.

The only team that has defeated the Reds this season remains Nottingham Forest, who did so in September.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side secured a narrow 1-0 loss in that game, also making them the only team that has stopped the Reds from scoring at Anfield in all competitions this season.

Since that loss, Arne Slot’s men have faced the champions of Spain (Real Madrid), the champions of England (Manchester City), and the champions of Germany (Bayer Leverkusen) at Anfield this season, winning each of those teams.

Not only did they win all games, they did so with multiple goals.

The Reds secured another multi-goal win on Wednesday against Newcastle, making history while doing so.

By scoring twice against the Magpies in their last outing, Liverpool became the first team in 90 years to score 2+ goals in 18 consecutive top-flight home games across all competitions.

That is according to data crunchers Squawka, who revealed that Liverpool have “scored 101 goals home and away this season, at least 12 more than any other Premier League side, topped the UCL League phase, are in the EFL Cup final and are 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League table.”

The Reds became the first Premier League side to score 100+ goals in all competitions this season, with the record-breaking Mohamed Salah contributing to 52 of those goals.

The Egyptian has   30 goals and 22 assists in all competitions this season?

The next player with more goal contributions in the current Liverpool squad is Cody Gakpo, who has 21 goal contributions.

With 16 goal contributions, Luis Diaz is next, while Dominik Szoboszlai (12) and Diogo Jota (11) make up the top five for most goals and assists in the Liverpool squad.
